Medically known as Vaso-vasostomy, this surgery restores the vas deferens, that is the duct which delivers sperm to the urethra. This procedure allows the restoration of the sperm flow in the patient so pregnancy can be achieved through natural conception.

Is it covered by OHIP?

No, the Ontario Health Insurance Program (OHIP) and most Canadian provincial healthcare systems do not cover the costs of vasectomy reversals. The only option is then to have it performed as a privately paid procedure.

After these considerations Dr. Ramirez results show that about 70% to 90% of having viable semen with spermatozoid cells.

What is the cost?

The cost of a vasectomy reversal varies depending on the geographical location of the practitioner and the hospital where the procedure will be performed. In our area the cost is approximately $4900. This amount includes the surgeon fee, hospital fee and anaesthetic fee.
